David joined Emap as CEO on the company's acquisition by Apax Partners and Guardian Media Group in March 2008. He has 30 years' experience in the information industry including editorial and management positions with Metal Bulletin, Reuters, Reed Elsevier and Informa. He was a member of the 3i-backed management buy-out team which bought LLP from Lloyd's of London in 1995, becoming CEO in 1997. He took LLP to flotation on the London Stock Exchange in early 1998, and, on its merger with IBC, became CEO of Informa Group plc He was appointed managing director on the merger of Informa and Taylor & Francis in May 2004, and was reappointed as Chief Executive of Informa plc in 2007.
Martyn is responsible for Finance and treasury activities together with IT, procurement and legal services. He spent the previous eight years with Northcliffe Media, the regional newspaper division of DMGT plc, as Finance Director with responsibility for IT and procurement activities. He created a shared service centre environment for Northcliffe improving the information flows within the business and led a cost reduction programme removing £50m from the cost base. He led the corporate development programme including the strategic review of the regional newspaper division within DMGT’s portfolio.
Susanna has two decades of international experience in events, and B2B and academic publishing. Prior to joining Emap she was CMO of Informa.
She is the CEO of WGSN and Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer for Emap, with responsibility for the marketing strategy and its successful implementation across all Emap brands and media.
Lara joined Emap in 2007 as Strategy Director, B2B. She moved to Dubai in 2009 as COO of EME, focusing on developing the business’ digital assets and high value information products. Prior to Emap, Lara was responsible for growth and acquisition strategy for CPA Global, a leading international legal services provider. She developed her digital and e-commerce experience at the Financial Times and working on MasterCard’s electronic payment applications. Lara began her career as a strategy consultant and has an MBA from INSEAD.
Malcolm joined Emap in 1981 and following his appointment as Editor of Motor Cycle News in 1986, he successfully relaunched the title and reversed six years of decline. He was appointed Publisher in 1989, and two years later Managing Director of Emap Nationals. Malcolm became Group Managing Director of Emap’s specialist consumer Division in 1998. He was appointed CEO of the Emap Automotive Network in 2001, before moving to Emap’s Business Division in 2002 as Group Managing Director. In January 2007, Malcolm became responsible for all of Emap Connect’s mixed-media Retail portfolio and in June 2008, became CEO of EMAP Connect.
Colette joined Emap in 2009. She has worked in the conference business since 1993 within ICBI, a division of Informa plc, as General Manager. During her career, she has launched and grown large scale, profitable conferences all over the world, many of which have become the market leading events in their sectors. In 2007 Colette won Informa's Global Employee Of The Year award.
Rupert has worked in information businesses since 1996, joining Reed Travel Group as Sales Director. During his six years he developed international sales teams, lead the profitable growth of digital products and ran operations across mainland Europe. Moving to CAP Motor Research (Emap) in 2002 he launched new product, service and CRM initiatives, built the customer centric management team and under his leadership, profitably grew the business by 50%. In March 2008 he was appointed CEO Insight to drive the growth of the data business portfolio
Natasha has been in media for 17 years and at Emap for 11 years. She started in consumer magazines, working on women's magazines such as Elle, Red and Heat. From there she moved to B2B media initially as Publishing Director of Drapers, the fashion retail industry bible. Becoming Managing Director of the Retail portfolio in 2007, Natasha oversaw Drapers, Retail Jeweller, Retail Solutions, Professional Beauty and the pan-retail multi platform brand Retail Week, whose portfolio includes awards, conferences and exhibitions. Natasha added the Built Environment business to her portfolio in 2008 including market leading brands Architects Journal, New Civil Engineer and Construction News.
Prior to Emap's acquisition by Apax and GMG, Tracey had worked as Group HR Director at Emap Plc, leading the people elements of the strategic review process and eventual sale of the different Emap businesses. She started her career in HR and Development 14 years ago as HR Manager for a joint venture distribution company, Frontline Limited. Since then she has held various roles, ranging from HR Director in B2B, to several lead project roles on business change and developing organisational capability.
