About Greater London House

A London Landmark

Resolution were responsible for restoring Greater London House to its original art deco grandeur, reinstating it as an architectural icon and enigma to 1930's design. This former cigarette factory has been converted to provide state of the art office space for firms seeking office locales in the much coveted Media Triangle.

Brief history of the Building

The Restoration of Greater London House to its original Art Deco splendour has culminated in the reinstatement of an architectural and historical landmark in London, forgotten for many years.
The origins of loft offices can be traced to the 1950s and the 1960s in New York, when a succession of famous artists began moving into studios in the redundant warehousing and industrial district of SoHo. These old factories were in an inner city location which was no longer suitable for their original use. The buildings had fantastic natural light, high ceilings and a romantic grandeur.
Originally constructed as a cigarette factory in 1928, this art deco office building had gradually fallen into decline until Resolution embarked upon an extensive programme of refurbishment.
