A rare and exceptional opportunity has arisen for an Editor on Drapers, the UK’s leading and longest-established subscriber-only media brand serving the fashion business community. Over the last 130 years the fashion industry’s bible has striven to represent, inform and support this dynamic and constantly evolving sector. Sitting at the heart of the fashion business community, through its print, digital and growing events content Drapers gives its subscribers the insight needed to ensure their businesses remain fit for the future.

Key Accountabilities: 

Brand and Content Strategy

Lead the multichannel brand strategy across digital, print and live events to ensure the brand’s long-term strategic development and ongoing commercial growth
Drive the content strategy with a clear focus to engage the Drapers audience
Work with the commercial team to develop a multichannel commercial content strategy, ensuring maximum client ROI whilst retaining editorial integrity
Set and achieve clear content KPI’s to support subscription targets
Develop and execute Drapers’ live events division including the awards, conference forums and bespoke events.
Devise and launch new products across print, digital and live events

Team Leader

Be a passionate team leader to editorial team of 14, creating a fast-paced and dynamic environment that produces consistently high-performing teams
Support and mentor the wider Drapers team of around 40


Establish workflow and manage the daily content output online and weekly in print
Work with the team to come up with content ideas across news, features and fashion to continually engage fashion industry leaders 
Decide on issues sizes and ratio across the full year for issues and supplements, awards brochures etc

Together with production editor and ads team, flatplan each print edition
Run the daily meeting to discuss all content ideas and implementation
Develop and execute Drapers’ seasonal shoots
Work with the art director on the creative across channels
Proof and approve all print pages

Digital Drive

Work with the Head of Digital Engagement to drive traffic numbers across digital channels from both subscribers and new users
Continue to evolve Drapers social media presence using these channels to extend brand awareness and drive traffic to the site
Work with the Marketing Manager to ensure SEO and PPC are optimised
Continually review and revise the site to ensure its continued effectiveness
Monitor new digital channels for NPD


Attend, host and manage Drapers range of events from breakfast/dinner roundtables (multiple) to conferences (3) and awards (4)
Work with conference producer to put together the programme for Drapers events
Suggest and get speakers for Drapers events
Build wish lists for all of Drapers awards, supporting the entry and sales campaigns
Continually evolve Drapers awards with new categories and criteria
Work with the Art Director on the creative of all events


Build strong contact base of industry contacts, having regular meetings with industry leaders
Attend industry events on a weekly basis
Talk to media when requested as Drapers spokesperson
Be a Drapers brand ambassador across the industry


Work with the Marketing Manager to ensure the brand has an integrated marketing strategy across channels
Come up with innovative new ideas to support marketing and drive brand awareness
Write and edit copy when required


Devise new ideas for commercial activity
Attend commercial meetings with Drapers biggest clients
Work with commercial partners to execute effective campaigns with successful ROI, whilst retaining editorial integrity


Manage, and work within, Drapers editorial budget
