Nursing Times is looking for a new member of staff to work across its news and online teams. The role has been newly created, so there is the rare potential for the post holder to help develop it.

We believe it is an exciting new position that offers the opportunity to work and develop skills across three key areas of the modern media – news, social media and online production.


Key Accountabilities: 

As a minimum, the successful candidate will be expected to write daily stories that will contribute to the Nursing Times fast-paced online news service.

They will also promote Nursing Times stories and engagement around them across various social media platforms – currently Twitter and Facebook.

In addition, they will be expected to send various newsletters on a daily or weekly basis at the discretion of the online editor.


The position would suit someone starting out on their career in the media – preferably a graduate and someone with a journalism qualification. 

Skills & Competencies: 
  • Basic news writing skills
  • Familiar with content management systems
  • Avid user of social media, especially Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
