New appointments on Architects Journal and Architectural Review

It’s my pleasure to announce a number of changes to the architecture portfolio editorial teams.

First and foremost, the news that Emily Booth will be Editor of AJ (maternity cover) during Christine Murray’s leave.

Emily has been working across both the AR and AJ for two years as executive editor, and prior to that was AJ’s special projects editor for four years. In this time she has worked closely with the editorial, commercial and marketing teams, with a focus on delivering successful bespoke client products. She’s worked across the AJ100 survey, including the special AJ120 edition; has helped to launch the AR awards, grow the Emerging Architecture and Women in Architecture programmes; and has devised and edited numerous bespoke publications, films, reports, roundtables and seminars. Previously Emily has worked on media titles including Broadcast, Screen and Campaign. Under Christine’s leadership, with a strong performance from Will Hurst and the rest of the AJ team, the AJ is in a very strong position and I know Emily will be able to further accelerate its progress on a number of fronts

On AR, I’m pleased to say that Paul Finch will be leading the title as its Editorial Director for the duration of Christine’s leave. Paul needs little introduction to the business and our customers. He will be looking at ways to deepen the relationship between AR and WAF over the coming months, as he continues as Content Director of the World Architecture Festival, while building on the strong subscription acquisitions the AR has developed this year.
