 As Business Development Manager (BDM) you will have an active role in creating and converting new business opportunities for subscription-based research services.  The challenge is to demonstrate how we support the strategies of asset managers, wealth managers, investment platforms and fintech providers. 

 The role is part of a small team and the BDM will report to the Head of Platforum and work closely with the research team. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Responding to enquiries and managing a pipeline of new business opportunities for: research subscription, reports and bespoke research/consulting projects 
  • Collaborating with marketing to generate and pursue leads based around key campaigns. 
  • Collaborate with Platforum team on client engagement and content marketing including: events, articles, and publications 
  • Manage sales administration – producing proposals, placing orders onto our booking system, coordinating with finance team etc. 

Skills and experience:

  • Business development/sales experience in financial services with an active interest in investing. 
  • Organised self-starter with strong attention to detail. 
  • Strong academics to undergrad degree or higher. 
  • Experience with CRM/booking systems preferred. 

Core competencies:

  • Dynamic and personable – comfortable speaking to a wide range of clients/prospects and not afraid to pick up the phone. Good at developing rapport and able to maintain successful relationship. 
  • Ability to get to grips with a technical service offering and relate it to our clients’ needs. 
  • Good organization skills – able to manage a pipeline of new business opportunities. 
  • Efficient administration skills with the ability to become the expert on internal processes including our online booking system and tracking spreadsheets.

Equipment: Due to hybrid working laptops are provided.

Place of work: This exciting position is a full-time hybrid role. 2 days in the office, 3 days from home. This could change over time depending on business needs.
