This is a wonderful opportunity to work directly with the Managing Director of the division to drive marketing across one of Emap’s most interesting divisions.

This role is based within Emap’s blue division and incorporates a series of famous media brands including Property Week, The UK’s leading digital, print and event business to business news media brand for the Real Estate sector. In addition, we produce AV magazine, the leading professional brand for AV technology, and Electronics Weekly, the leading brand for everyone in the high-tech electronics industry.

Overall, Purpose of the Role:

  • To manage the marketing function for EMAP’s Blue division, with responsibility for driving subscription growth, and encouraging a culture of understanding the needs of our audience, driving engagement, and launching new products and ideas to help grow the business. The Head of Marketing should ensure the ‘voice of the customer’ is always in the room


  • Lead marketing at a strategic and commercial level for the portfolio and input into companywide activities.
  • Direct the marketing activities for the portfolio particularly audience development, paid subscriptions, data growth and management. You will closely with  the Head of Event Marketing.
  • Lead and mentor the team; Subscriptions Marketing Manager, Marketing Executive, Marketing Assistant, Email Marketer, Corporate subscription sales manager, subscription sales executive. Data Manager.
  • Oversee the team’s workload and ensure that optimum results are achieved.
  • Manage targets, revenue generation and KPIs across the portfolio.
  • Set and control budgets and report regularly on targets, spend and activity.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers, and associations.
  • Be the driver in maintaining brand values, brand recognition and reputation.
  • Put data at the core of the portfolio growth, and with the MD develop data strategy across the portfolio. Ensure data is up to date and constantly renewed.
  • Maintain good quality marketing communications across the portfolio and promote best practice.
  • Represent the company on association committees such as the PPA and the ABC

Equipment: Due to hybrid working laptops are provided.

Place of work: This exciting position is a full-time hybrid role. 2 days in the office, 3 days from home. This could change over time depending on business needs.
