The job holder will lead and coordinate all employee development initiatives, communicating with managers to identify training needs and mapping out development plans for teams and individuals. They will be responsible for designing, developing and coordinating all training events and programs, both outsourced and in-house.

Responsibilities:

  • Instigate, map-out and maintain the annual Staff Development plans for the Group each year
  • Conduct, in conjunction with divisional heads, organisation-wide training needs assessment and identify skills or knowledge gaps that need to be addressed
  • Design and develop, in conjunction with senior function managers, the functional training events and programs within the annual Staff Development plans (outsourced and/or in-house)
  • Assist in the selection and procurement of external training providers where necessary
  • Select appropriate training methods or activities (e.g. mentoring, on-the-job training, classroom development sessions, on-line)
  • Record and maintain training stats for attendees at every training event (for KPI stats)
  • Market available training to employees and provide necessary information about sessions
  • Book training rooms for in-house training events
  • Liaise with managers/trainers and invite attendees to training events
  • Send reminders to attendees close to training event
  • Maintain contact with manager/trainer through cycle of their training event
  • Use known education principles and stay up-to-date on new training methods and techniques
  • Design, prepare and order educational aids and materials, and manage and maintain in-house training equipment
  • Assess training and development activity effectiveness and determine the impact of training on employee skills and KPIs
  • Gather feedback evaluations from trainers and trainees after each training event and report
  • Develop and maintain a company-wide Development and Training database and records
  • Manage and maintain in-house training facilities and equipment

Skills and experience:

  • DESIRABLE – Proven work experience as a Training & Development Coordinator, Trainer, Training Facilitator or similar role
  • DESIRABLE – Proven experience coordinating multiple training events in a fast paced company setting
  • DESIRABLE – Knowledge of instructional design theory and implementation
  • DESIRABLE – Proven ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate)
  • REQUIRED – Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods, e-learning and online delivery tools and techniques
  • REQUIRED – MS Office proficiency
  • REQUIRED – Advanced organizational and planning skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments
  • REQUIRED – Strong communication skills
  • DESIRABLE – Formal qualifications in Education, Training, HR or related fields
