emap is a progressive B2B subscriptions, networking and content business with industry-leading brands, reaching customers across multiple touch points including online, print, and face to face at events, exhibitions and awards.

The Quality Food Awards is the industry’s longest running food awards, and 2023 will be its 44th year, while Ireland will celebrate 10 years in 2023. The awards aim to celebrate the best in food products, and in Ireland, alcohol as well. Companies submit their products to us, where we will receive it, prepare according to cooking instructions, and judge with a panel of industry experts, before awarding the results.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

To work with the Director and team of the Quality Food Awards portfolio (UK and Ireland) to increase the reach and brand awareness of the Quality Food Awards, and to implement marketing campaigns for the brand and the associated stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage the marketing campaigns for UK and Irish Quality Food Awards
  • Control and grow the social media accounts of both brands, posting regularly (multiple times a week) with engaging content
  • Write the social media content and put together a social calendar based around the awards’ timelines
  • Create a marketing plan to maximise the award’s potential reach and growth
  • Manage the delivery schedule of marketing activity for sponsors and partners e.g. e-shots, social posts and website updates
  • With the wider marketing team, build the websites for the UK and Irish Qs for the year including category entry pages, table pages, and test the functionality
  • Produce regular e-shots to the two audiences throughout the year
  • Manage the databases for both brands, finding sources to canvas from, through purchasing data sets or free lists
  • Attend trade shows to source companies suitable for entering the awards
  • Attend any live events associated with the awards e.g. awards dinner, informal networking events
  • Attend judging sessions to gather interesting content to post
  • Approve judges’ profiles to the site and promote them on social media
  • Write press releases for launch and awards announcement, to be delivered to media partners
  • Post awards, approve any on pack or promotional logos for clients to use the logo
  • Identify any interesting brands or companies that Quality Food Awards would benefit from being associated with
  • Manage the website with regular updates and ensure current content including media coverage and logo usage as well as calls to action
  • Build the shortlist showcase on the website to go live with the shortlists
  • Project manage the creation of and compile the brochure content for awards programmes, sponsor promo print, winners brochures etc, working with the designer and liaising with print suppliers
  • Work with the designer to produce engaging and creative social media content
  • Liaise closely with the Director, Sales Executive and Events team to ensure partner and sponsor marketing needs are met

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven track record in events marketing, campaign management and digital marketing
  • Experience of developing strategic plans and social media calendars
  • Intermediate IT skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel
  • Experience using Google analytics, Adobe analytics and social media channels for advertising
  • Knowledge of Canva a bonus
  • Exceptional communication skills for producing captivating marketing comms.

Core competencies:

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate experience in putting together successful and comprehensive marketing campaigns, ideally in a b2b environment. Knowledge of the food industry is a bonus but not a necessity. More important is a good knowledge of social media with a desire to grow a brand with high potential.

They will need to be organised and keep good track of social account growth, and database management for regular reporting.

Excellent written communication skills are a must to create the content for the brands and explain the information clearly to a variety of audiences.

Equipment: Due to hybrid working laptops are provided.

Place of work: This exciting position is a full-time hybrid role. 2 days in the office, 3 days from home. This could change over time depending on business needs.
