The Quality Food Awards is the industry’s longest running food awards, and 2023 will be its 44th year, while Ireland will celebrate 10 years in 2023. The awards aim to celebrate the best in food products, and in Ireland, alcohol as well. Companies submit their products to us, where we will receive it, prepare according to cooking instructions, and judge with a panel of industry experts, before awarding the results.

Overall Purpose of the Role:

To work with the Director of the Quality Food Awards portfolio (UK and Ireland), to achieve and exceed revenue and targets on existing events

To develop new profitable products and revenue streams for the brand

Key responsibilities:

  • Act as account manager for our clients in the UK and Ireland
  • To sell the full range of products in the portfolio – from digital and live events through to creative multi-platform sponsorship campaigns
  • Identify other revenue streams relevant to the awards
  • Send out contracts itemising the elements of the campaign to be delivered and ensure this is communicated to the marketing team to implement in the schedule
  • Delivering on target revenues, identifying new revenue streams to generate sustainable growth year on year
  • Proactively and strategically sourcing new business revenue whilst managing and growing existing accounts
  • Establish client objectives, and present the most appropriate solutions
  • Develop a sales plan
  • Manage client base in accordance with the sales plan
  • Raise brand profile in the market
  • Review and monitor exhibitions/publications/websites, and identify new leads
  • Attend trade shows to source companies suitable for entering/sponsoring the awards
  • Attend any live events associated with the awards e.g. awards dinner, informal networking event
  • Maintain regular contact with clients to grow revenue
  • Provide a strong level of customer care, touching base regularly
  • Produce reports/analysis as requested by Brand Director
  • Liaise regularly and closely with the marketing team to ensure client deliverables are met
  • Carry out ad hoc duties occasionally

Skills and Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience of exceeding sales targets in a media sales environment
  • A track record of building robust relationships with clients
  • Highly organised with good time-management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Good Microsoft office skills, including word, excel and PowerPoint

Equipment: Due to hybrid working laptops are provided.

 Place of work: This exciting position is a full-time hybrid role. 2 days in the office, 3 days from home. This could change over time depending on business needs.
