5th May 2021 saw the return of The White Label Auction, held in aid of The BRIT Trust charity and timed to coincide with the music industry’s annual BRIT Awards. 115 ‘white label’ test pressings were contributed from Universal, Sony, Warner, BMG along with other UK record companies and included artists such as Paul Weller, The Kinks, Kylie, The Cure, PJ Harvey, The Who, Beastie Boys…

To help with publicity, The British Phonographic Industry chose Record Collector magazine to get the word out, utilising the magazine’s email database and social media platforms. The auction was conducted by Omega Auctions (a longstanding advertiser with the pages of RC), and raised £34,000 – to support a wide range of causes that promote education and wellbeing through music, such as The BRIT School and Nordoff Robbins music therapy among many others.
